United States: When on Monday, Republican vice-presidential nominee JD Vance rallied against Vice President Kamala Harris at a rally in southwestern Virginia, it garnered a lot of applause and cheers from a crowd gathered in great amounts.
More about the news
The rally was held immediately the day after when President Joe Biden stepped down from the 2024 election race and endorsed
Harris, who would now seek the Democratic nomination at the party convention in August.
According to Vance, an Ohio senator who was named as former President Donald Trump’s running mate at the Republican National Convention a week ago, “I was looking forward to debating Kamala Harris,” and “She signed up for every single one of Joe Biden’s failures, and she lied about his capacity to serve as president.”

He also joined other Republicans in calling for Biden to resign from the presidency, as USA Today reported.
Vance also argued that if he is not “fit to run, he is not fit to serve” and mentioned that Democrats are pushing Biden to step aside, invalidating the will of primary voters.
Moreover, before the event began, a small group of protesters gathered at an intersection on the Radford University campus near the rally, holding signs stating, “Protect reproductive rights, vote Democrat.”
It was Vance’s second rally of the day. His first rally earlier on Monday was held in his hometown of Middleton, Ohio.
It also caused a backlash from Democrats, and the Harris campaign happened after Republican state Sen. George Lang, speaking at the Ohio rally, said there could be a civil war to “save the country” if Republicans lose in November.
Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares said to the crowd that Biden is stepping down from the President’s election bd and that Harris is “responsible for the crisis at the Southern border.”
He added, “The Biden-Harris Administration has failed at keeping us safe,” Miyares, who has teased a 2025 gubernatorial run, said. “What’s on the ballot this fall is our very country,” as the USA Today reported.
Rep. Morgan Griffith, the representative of Virginia’s Ninth Congressional District, which includes Radford, also criticized the new Democratic presidential frontrunner and called Vice President Kamala Harris a “less than competent” candidate.
He even argued that she had caused the huge number of border crossings in the Southwestern United States.
